"Those Who Love Life Will Come and Set Me Free" - Morton Sobell [cover title]

A packet of pre-conference discussion issued by the National Organization of Rosenberg-Sobell Committees for their Chicago conference, Oct. 10-11, 1953. The packet begins with full page quote by Abraham Lincoln followed by excerpts from a letter by Morton Sobell writing to his wife from Alcatraz. The pre-conference papers include a Statement of Policy, Representation and Voting Plan of Conference, the National Organization structure, and the group’s Method of Operation.

Established in October 1951 as the National Committee to Secure Justice in the Rosenberg Case, the Committee turned its attention toward freeing Morton Sobell following the execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg in 1953. Sobell was an engineer who worked with the Rosenbergs as a Soviet spy. He served nearly 18 years of a 30-year sentence.
