No Silent Generation! Call to the Second National Convention of the Labor Youth League, New York City, Febuary 19-22, 1954

New York: National Council, Labor Youth League, 1954. A call to organize the second national convention of the Labor Youth League (LYL), which was held from February 19-22, 1954 in NYC. The cover features an illustration of an interracial couple holding hands, which the group reprinted for the cover of its discussion bulletin. The rest of the pamphlet highlights the group’s struggle for Negro rights and against McCarthyism, the McCarran Act, fascism, etc.

The LYL was founded in 1949 under the aegis of the Communist Party and was essentially a continuation of American Youth for Democracy. It dissolved in 1956.

A single sheet folded in thirds (8 ½” x 5 ½”), six panels, illustrations. Wear along the edges and folds, some toning. Not found by us in OCLC. Item #9831
