Two items related to Chicano support for Hubert Humphrey's 1968 presidential campaign

[San Jose?]: n.p., [1968]. Two Chicano items in support of Hubert Humphrey’s 1968 Presidential campaign, which he ran unsuccessfully against Richard Nixon. Humphrey publicly supported Cesar Chavez’s national boycott and met with him privately when campaigning in California. His attempt to extend the National Labor Relations Act to farm workers endeared him to many Chicano activists and United Farm Worker, which is reflected in these items.

A 20” x 14” poster printed in green and red and featuring the slogan, “HHH, Si! Si! Si!” and with the UFW emblem.

An 8 ½” x 11” flyer for a “Brown’s [sic] and Blacks” Hubert Humphrey rally, which encourages attendees to “groove right on and dig Julian Bond & Cesar Chavez who will accompany HHH.” The rally was held at HHH Headquarters in East San Jose. Item #9552
