Ann Arbor: Rainbow People's Party / Ann Arbor SUN, Inc., 1972-74. Five issues of the underground paper originally affiliated with John Sinclair and the White Panther Party (later renamed the Rainbow People’s Party), but which by 1973 had become an independent underground paper. One of the issues here is published by the Rainbow People’s Party, the others all affiliated with the later iteration of the paper. Notable content for this run includes a two-part profile of and interview with Black Panther Bobby Seale (nos. 57-58); Part 1 of the Rainbow People’s Party post-1972 election statement: The Masters of Deceit (no. 43); a SUN expose on leaks at a nuclear power plant in Michigan (no. 58); a special section on the activities of the Tribal Council (no. 58); a special Bob Dylan supplement (Vol. 2, No. 2). Lots of other political and cultural fare. The paper ceased by 1976.
