Cass Lake, MN / Winnipeg / Phoenix: Alliance Indian Publications / Intertribal Christian Communications / Native Christian Resource Center, 1976-2000. A collection of three Christian magazines primarily edited and written by Native Americans interested in evangelizing to other Native Americans. The Indian Christian was published by the Alliance Indian Publications “to provide the Indian church with a means of expression and instruction that is solidly evangelical.” It eventually merged with Indian Life newspaper in October 1979 to form Indian Life magazine, which served the same purpose as its predecessor. Native Pentecostal News was published by the Native American Christian Resource Center in Phoenix, AZ, and was also evangelical in outlook. It promoted Christian ministry among Native Americans while covering many social issues affecting this community, including gambling, alcoholism, spousal abuse, etc.
