Hancock, VT: Top Drawer Rubber Stamp Co., 1979. The second of three catalogues issued by the Top Drawer Rubber Stamp company comprising stamp designs from many popular underground artists. The majority of designs for this catalogue are by Robert Crumb (52), with others by Bill Griffith, Kim Deitch, Jay Lynch, Aline Kominsky, Spain Rodriquez, and Art Spiegelman.
The Top Drawer Rubber Stamp company emerged out of the Quarry HIll Creative Center, an artist and countercultural haven founded by Irving and Barbara Fiske in Rochester, VT, in 1946. The Fiske’s daughter, Isabella, became friends with many underground artists, including married cartoonists Art Spiegelman and Françoise Mouly, with whom she launched Top Drawer in 1978.
