White Life, Vol. 1, No. 4, Sept., 1971

Centerline, Mich. National Youth Alliance, 1971. A single issue of the National Youth Alliance’s bulletin in the form of an action report. The most substantial item is a report from the NYA’s 1971 conference held in Detroit. Other items include information on rallies, actions, and activities undertaken by the group’s various chapters, including an anti-busing protest, a support campaign for three NJ youths jailed for beating up a drug dealer who sold drugs to a young white girl, a recruiting rally at Ohio State Univ., and NYA involvement with the United Hard Hats of America.

The National Youth Alliance emerged from the short-lived Youth for Wallace campaign and at various times involved Revilo P. Oliver, Richard Barrett, William Pierce, Louis Byers and Willis Carto, among others. After internecine squabbling, two separate National Youth Alliance groups operated for a number of years before William Pierce claimed sole use of the name and later transformed the group into his National Alliance. This strain was led by Patrick Tifer with the support of Willis Carto. The group published Statecraft and White Life and was later affiliated with Youth Action News.
