The Civil Rights Act of 1963: The Establishment of a Totalitarian Police State

[1964]. A two-sided flyer protesting the Civil Rights Act first proposed by John F. Kennedy in June, 1963 and signed into law nearly a year later under Lyndon Johnson. Many on the Right feared that the legislation would arrogate States’ rights and give unprecedented power to the Federal government. The flyer begins with an excerpt from the Dan Smoot Report warning of the Act’s implications on the freedom of individuals to advocate segregation or maintain segregated housing. This is followed by remarks from Loyd Wright and John C. Satterfield’s pamphlet “A Blueprint for Total Federal Regimentation” and concludes with a list of all senators and codes representing their probable support or opposition to the bill.

An 8 ½” x 14” sheet printed on both sides. Horizontal crease from folding, some minor creasing, about Near Fine. Not found by us in OCLC. Item #8566

Price: $75.00
