Program for the German American Bund's infamous rally at Madison Square Garden

n.p. n.p., [197-?]. A facsimile reprint of the German American Bund's program for its mass rally at Madison Square Garden held on Feb. 20, 1939 issued here as a tabloid newspaper. The content includes an editorial about the Bund by its leader Fritz Kuhn, the rally's program (music, speeches, announcements, Bund Song, Colors, etc.), a section on “What The German-American Bund Stands For”, “An Explanation Of The German-American Bund [Nazi-style] Salute”, An Explanation of the “Order Division” (which, like the German SS protected Bund rallies), “Purposes and Aims of the German-American Bund”, “Application for Membership in the German-American Bund”, etc. Also included are many advertisements for Bund enterprises such as Camp Nordland, as well as German-owned businesses around New York. In one advert for the German American Business League's tradeguide, patrons are urged to "Not Talk Antisemitic!, Act Christian! Buy Gentile, Employ Gentile."

Although there is no publisher information included, this reprint was likely issued by the Federation of Americans of German Descent as a supplement to their newspaper "Voice of German Americans" (previously known as the "Voice of the Federation" and the "Voice of Americans of German Descent"), as we acquired it with the June 1977 issue. This group was founded in the U.S. directly after WWII and was led for many years by the controversial revisionist historian Austin App.
