Item #15292 Secret Societies and Subversive Movements. Nesta Webster.

Secret Societies and Subversive Movements

London: Boswell Printing & Publishing Co., Ltd., 1936. Fifth Edition. Secret Societies and Subversive Movements was Nesta Webster’s “further enquiry” into the theme of World Revolution: The Plot Against Civilization (1921): namely the subversive character of the various occult and Masonic organizations that emanated from France and that were inspired by Jewish cabalists. Chapters are devoted to ancient secret traditions, occultism and the origin of Freemasonry; German Templarism, Jewish Cabalists, and the Bavarian Illuminati; and moden Freemasonry, secret societies in England, open subversive movements, and pan-Germanism. The book’s final chapter, “The Real Jewish Peril,” was its most controversial exploring the claim - endorsed by Webster - on the “concerted attempt by Jewry to achieve world domination and to obliterate the Christian faith” (p. 369). The book circulated widely and went through at least eight editions (between Boswell and the Britons) and was published in the U.S. in 1925 by E. P. Dutton.
