How We Blundered into Korean War and Tragic Future Consequences

He portrays these developments as the combined product of official incompetence, appeasement, and Communist influence within the State Department, while advocating renewed support for the Chinese Nationalists and the defense of Formosa (Taiwan). The pamphlet incorporates substantial quotations from William C. Bullitt and Claire Chennault, alongside material from Joseph P. Kamp’s America Betrayed.
Published by the Committee for Constitutional Government, which was formed in 1937 as the National Committee to Uphold Constitutional Government by newspaper publisher Frank Gannett, Amos Pinchot, and Edward A. Rumely to oppose Roosevelt’s Supreme Court expansion proposal. It developed into a broader opponent of the New Deal, using extensive mailing campaigns to influence public opinion and legislation; it reorganized under the shorter name in 1941. This pamphlet illustrates the extension of its anti–New Deal politics into postwar anticommunism.
