Up or Down with Womens Liberation: A Coloring Book

Mommy is depicted as tired, bored, frustrated and oppressed in her role as a mother and wife whereas daddy is portrayed as money-hungry, ambitious, sexist, lascivious and authoritarian (i.e., patriarchal). Other characters include brother, sister, babysittler, librarian, women-co-workers, and neighbor. The final page introduces a married couple called Tweedle-he and Tweedle-she who have a much more equitable marriage that makes mommy happy and daddy enraged. According to the cover, the color book originated in the Newport-Costa Mesa branch of the American Association of University of Women.
