The Common Sense of Segregation

[Glen Alpine, North Carolina]: [Published by the author], ©1959. A defense of segregation by the North Carolina educator who admits that much remains to be done to ensure equality for African Americans, but which "cannot be accomplished by forced association or bludegeoned good-will" (p. [10]).

Zeb Vance Kitchin Dickson was born in 1908 in the Blue Ridge Mountains and attended Appalachian State Teachers College. He was an English teacher and principal in a number of North Carolina schools before retiring in the early 1970s. Although he came in last, he ran again in 1976. He died in 1996 in Eden.
