African Liberation Support Committee newspaper for African Liberation Day, 1973

Greensboro, N.C. African Liberation Support Committee, 1973. This is a "special" one-off newspaper published by the African Liberation Support Committee (ALSC) following African Liberation Day (ALD), 1973. It includes an article on ALD, local ALD capsule reports, a message from ALSC chairman Owusu Sadaukai, a report on ALD in Montreal and the Caribbean, quotes from various pan-African activists, and many photographs from around the country.

The first ALD was held in 1972 under the auspices of the newly formed African Liberation Day Coordinating Committee, which was founded in Greensboro, NC, by Owusu Sadaukai in 1972 following his trip to Mozambique. The group was renamed the African Liberation Support Committee (ALSC) in 1973 and organized ALD until 1975 when it dissolved.
