A small collection of publications and ephemera from the Nuwaubian Nation

Eatonton, Georgia: Holy Tabernacle Ministries, 1990s. This group of material is from the last stage of the black nationalist new religious group founded by Dwight York in 1967. Originally called the Ansaaru Allah Community and located in Brooklyn, the group and its leader, at various times, offered followers a jumbled amalgamation of black supremacism, black Hebrewism, Islam, Ansar iconography, extraterrestrial speculations, Freemasonry, etc. In the mid-1990s, York moved the group to Eatonton, Georgia, where they changed their name to the United Nuwaubian Nation of Moors. York thusly changed his name to Chief Black Eagle of the Yamassee and disavowed Islam. The group constructed an Egyptian-themed compound called Tama-Re. In 2004, York was sentenced to 135 years in prison in the biggest child molestation case against a single individual in U.S. history. Although he alleged to have authored over 300 publications, all remain relatively uncommon. Included here are:
