A large collection of anti-Masonic material, primarily published by the National Christian Association
Various cities: Various publishers, [ca. 1900-1950s]. A collection of 29 anti-Masonic pamphlets and tracts primarily published and distributed by the National Christian Association (NCA) in Chicago. Organized in 1867 as the National Association of Christians Opposed to Secret Societies, the NCA was a non-sectarian (but predominantly Protestant) organization that worked to educate Christians on the anti-Christian basis of Freemasonry and other secret societies. It published a magazine, Christian Cynosure, from 1868 until the organization's dissolution in 1983. The collection features pamphlets by some of the NCA's most important lecturers and leaders including Charles Blanchard (the second President of Wheaton College, which was closely affiliated with the NCA. Blanchard's father, Jonathan, was the first President of Wheaton and a founding member of the NCA), Charles Finney of Oberlin College (a Freemason who left after becoming a Christian), the Rev. J. P. Stoddard, Stanley Neumann, William Meyer, etc.
