War Hypocrisy Unveiled: An Essay on the World Conflict

New York City: Mr. F. Hansen, 1915. A pro-German, anti-British pamphlet by the German-American, New York City lawyer who uses a legal framework to discuss Germany's invasion of Belgium and the question of Belgian neutrality. He criticizes Great Britain for their hypocritical response to Germany and reminds them of their invasion of Egypt in 1882 under the same circumstances. Furthermore, he refutes the characterization of Germany as militaristic and aggressive by highlighting their contributions to democracy, high culture, and literature and philosophy. Henschel's pamphlet was the subject of a lengthy newspaper article in the January 10, 1915 edition of the New York Herald.
