The Mundt Police State Bill Is Fascism
Los Angeles: Community Party of Los Angeles County, [1948]. The Los Angeles Communist Party argues that the proposed Mundt-Nixon Bill (Subversive Activities Control Act) is targeting workers, blacks, Jews, and peace activists, not just Communist Party members. Progressives rallied against the bill with Representative Mundt and Communist Party Chairman William Foster debating the bill's merits in a radio broadcast. After months of protests and demonstrations and discussion among representatives, the bill fizzled.
