This Is a Republic, Not a Democracy! Let's Keep It That Way

Pearson uses Robert Welch's book Republics and Democracies as a springboard (and for the pamphlet's title) for discussing the differences between a republic and democracy. He discusses the Aristotellian notion of a democracy, the rise and decline of Rome, the Venetian Republic, and democracy's only success among the Nordic, white people. He concludes by asserting that the "deep conviction in the advantages of a republic over a democratic system of government [have been] shaken" by a "Socialist-Communist race-mixing ideology" that must be rejected.
