Delegate 1985, 20th Anniversary issue
New York: MelPat Associates, 1985. Delegate was a long-running annual magazine affiliated with the National Association of Market Developers (NAMD) and published each year for its annual conference (the first issue was published in 1966). The NAMD was founded in 1953 as a "national, professional organization of specialists in sales, advertising, marketing and public relations directed primarily toward the development of the Negro market," and sought to "raise the level of ethics and performance among Negro-market practitioners" (p. [10], 1971 issue). Each issue of Delegate featured a "semi-in depth presentation of biographical material and pictures of persons and organizations in the Negro community who by their actions and capabilities are contributing to the advancement of the Negro communities in cities throughout the United States and by these contributions are advancing the cultural, economic, educational, fraternal and civic as well as civil rights for Americans during these challenging sixties." This 20th anniversary issue is a whopping 480 p.!
