Elise Jerard (1903-1977) was the founder and chairman of the IPBKESG and an advisor to the Environmental Defense Fund, the Scientists' Institute for Public Information, and the Citizen's Committee for the Protection of the Environment. She was an early staunch proponent of solar energy and opposed fluoridation of the water supply. She died the year this report was published.
