New York: National Organization and Education Commissions, C.P.U.S.A., 1947-48. A near complete run of this monthly internal magazine of the Communist Party USA "aimed to service the needs of our leading personnel, primarily the leadership of our 2,000 community, shop and industrial clubs" (p. 2, Vol. 1, No. 1). The magazine featured contributions from CPUSA leaders across the country who wrote practical articles and stories about organizing tenants, workers and union members, running meetings, distributing party literature, recuiting members, etc. Each issue also featured a cartoon centerfold section, profiles of CPUSA leaders, and a song section on the rear cover featuring a different proletarian song (notes and lyrics). Many of the issues cover the party's anti-racism/anti-fascism work and the efforts of the Harlem branch, which was particularly concerned with organizing African Americans within the party. It appears that 14 issues were ultimately published, with the last two volumes issued as double issues (confusingly, both volumes were partially numbered Vol. II, No. 1). Included in this run are Vol. 1, Nos. 1-4, 6, 8-11, Vol. I, No. 12/Vol. II, No. 1 (double issue).
