Sister Courage (7 issues)
Boston: Sister Courage, 1976-77. Seven later issues of this Boston feminist newspaper that was published from 1975-1978. Boston/Cambridge was one of the epicenters of the women’s liberation movement and the collectively-run Sister Courage played an important role in the continuity of publications emerging from that city, which also included No More Fun and Games, Hysteria, Second Wave, and Sojourner. In December 1977 the paper went on a brief hiatus while it tried restructuring itself into a more economically viable model, but only three more issues were published when it resumed in March 1978. Some issues were mis-numbered and volume 3 numbering appears to begin again after the paper resumed, but as far as we can tell 26 issues were published in total. Our grouping includes Vol. 2, No. 2 (November, 1976), Vol. 2, No. 3 (December, 1976; mis-numbered Vol. 3, No. 2), Vol. 2, No. 7 (April 1977), Vol. 2, No. 8 (May 10 1977), Vol. 2, No. 9 (June, 1977; incorrectly numbered Vol. 2, No. 8; ), Vol. 2, No. 10 (September 1977), and Vol. 3, No. 2 (December 1977).
