Philadelphia: C. Sherman & Son, Printers, 1862. Presumed first edition, although it was also published the same year by the printer, J. Campbell. 23 cm; 23, [1] pp. This scarce pamphlet was published at the behest of noted Philadelphian, Richard Vaux, and contains an 1861 letter from Dr. Benjamin Rush's grandson, Benjamin Rush, to an unnamed prominent citizen of Washington, DC, concerning the Southern rebellion and Lincoln's right in suppressing it. In Good only condition. No longer thread-bound; leaves nearly detached, but holding. A dark toning covers the bottom half throughout, although doesn't appear to be dampstaining; vertical crease.
