Zionism and the State of Israel: A series of five articles reprinted from Jewish Life, May-September, 1949

[New York]: [Morning Freiheit Association], 1949. A scarce (and unfortunately incomplete) document reprinting five articles from the Jewish left magazine Jewish Life (later renamed Jewish Currents), in which Miller tries to explain and reconcile the increasingly complex relationship between the Communist Party, political Zionism and Israel. Jewish Life was published by the Morning Freiheit Association, which also published a Yiddish newspaper called Morning Freiheit; all were associated with the Communist Party USA. Freiheit and Jewish Life editor Paul Novick was later expelled from the Party for his pro-Zionist stance. The following year Miller authored the pamphlet, Soviet Anti-Semitism: The Big Lie! (1950).

Side-stapled 11” x 8 ½” sheets mimeographed on rectos only, 34 leaves (supposed to be 35, with the last leaf detached and missing). Foxing and offsetting to cover sheet. Only four copies in WorldCat. Item #11751
