A private and confidential discussion document written and circulated by the Anglican priest Dr. James Parkes (1896-1981), in which justification for Zionism and Israeli statehood is based on the “exceptional” status of Jews at the beginning of the 20th century. Parkes, who authored over 400 works on Jews, anti-Semitism, Jewish-Christian relations, and Israel/Palestine, donated his vast library to the University of Southampton in 1964. The Parkes Institute is now an academic research center and one of the largest Jewish documentation centers in Europe.

Side-stapled 13” x 8” leaves mimeographed from typescript, 26 p. Some toning, center crease from folding. Not found in WorldCat, although a copy is found in Parkes’ papers at the Institute. Item #11744
