A tribute poster to Paul Robeson, campaign poster for Erma Henderson (?)

[Detroit?]: [1977?]. A poster that appears to be part tribute to pioneering black activist Paul Robeson and part campaign material for Erma Henderson who ran for President of the Detroit City Council in 1977. Henderson was the first black woman elected to the Detroit City Council in 1972 and a photograph of her and Robeson appears near the top. A caption at the bottom reads, “Erma is pictured here with Paul Robeson on one of his early visits to Detroit…”. A larger photograph of a smiling Robeson dominates the poster with his accomplishments listed along the bottom edges: “artist, scholar, lawyer, linguist, humanist, revolutionary, Phi Beta Kappa, All-American, Rutgers University, 1919.”
