Auras and Colors: An Esoteric System of Teaching Concerning Halos, Aureolas and the Nimbus

Portland, Oregon: The Order of the White Rose, [193-?]. Twelfth edition. An occult treatise on auras and colors and their metaphysical significance, which includes The Dictionary of Colors; Their Spiritual Meanings. One of the many titles written and published by Jesse Charles Fremont Grumbine (1861-1938), a Unitarian minister who founded the esoteric body, The Order of the White Rose. Grumbine’s inspiration for the Order was his spiritual communications with Elizabeth Barrett Browning who regularly sent him teachings. Besides his books and pamphlets, Grumbine edited the quarterly journal Immortality (later called Universal Religion) and was the President of the College of Divine Sciences and Realization. He lived periodically in Chicago, Syracuse, Boston and Portland, Oregon where he died in 1938. For a number of years his books were kept in print by his wife, although the Order slowly died out. The group appears to have been revived in 2021 and is based in Tell City, Indiana (see, https://www.whiteroseorder.com/join-us.php).
