Commemorating 50th Anniversary Famine in Ukraine, 1932-1933

Detroit: The Ukrainian Community Committee, 1983. An interview with a purported member of the Ukrainian Community Committee on Holodomor, the genocidal famine in Ukraine that took place between 1932-33, in which five to ten million Ukrainians starved to death under Stalin’s direction. The interviewee discusses the famine’s suppression in the mainstream U.S. media and the few independent journalists who covered it. The Ukrainian Community Committee was formed in 1983 in Detroit to commemorate the victims of the famine. Poorly reproduced photographs show some of the famine’s victims.
