An assortment of flyers from Women Strike for Peace, Women Speak Out for Peace & Justice, and the Philadelphia chapter of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom. The flyers address an assortment of concerns, including the war in Indochina, corporate profiteering, the ballooning defense budget and the need for government spending reform, proposed legislation targeting anti-nuclear activities, etc. One flyer advertises a lecture by Dorothy R. Steffens, Director, U.S. Section of Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom on “Women Under Socialism - The Cuban Experience.” A small, but partially representative, grouping of women’s peace organizing during the mid-1970s. We’re also including a small 5” x 3 ¼” circular from Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom that includes a quote from Romain Rolland on “Women and War.” Ca. 1920s or 30s.
