New York: Socialist Labor Committee, 1971. Tabloid format printed in black on newsprint, 4 pp. Browning to newsprint, a few creases. Scattered issues appear in six OCLC institutions with none holding this inaugural issue.
“Crisis” was an apt title for a paper issued in the wake of the factional dispute in the National Caucus of Labor Committees (NCLC) that led to the Socialist Labor Committee’s formation and the establishment of this paper. The SLC was led by Philadelphian, Steve Fraser, and much of the content in this first issue revolves around the NCLC split and the “Philadelphia bomb-plot, frame-up case” against him and fellow SLC member, Dick Borgmann. Other coverage includes the group’s new anti-Rizzo campaign, the Newark Teachers Strike, an assault on construction unions, British labor, etc. Item #06706
