New York: The East and West Association, 1946. First edition thus. Stapled, illustrated wrappers, 44 pp, eight photographic plates. Corners gently bumped, wrappers slightly rubbed, small splits at spine ends; VG or better. This is a condensation of a section of the book, “A Brother is a Stranger”, by the same authors, published by John Day Company. Both the book and this pamphlet are uncommon in commerce, with only four copies of this title in WorldCat institutions.
Matsumoto’s memoir of growing up in Japan, with a particular focus on his education, his conversion to Christianity and his decision to emigrate to the U.S. with his wife in 1935. Item #06663
