Saint Paul, Mn.: Wounded Knee Legal Defense/Offense Committee, 1974. Two corner-stapled 8 ½” x 14” sheets, 4 pp. Some toning/offsetting around the edges; horizontal crease along the lower third from folding, VG overall. Three institutions purport holding any issues in WorldCat (NYU, Univ. of Minn., Law Library, and International Institute of Social History). Scarce thus.
A single issue of this mimeographed newsletter reporting on the trial of Wounded Knee defendants, Dennis Banks and Russell Means. The first two pages accuse the government of legal misconduct during the trial and the last two pages recount instances of injustice perpetrated against Native Americans by the legal system. It appears that the newsletter ran through the entire trial, which resulted in the charges against Banks and Means being dismissed in 1975. All issues appear to be uncommon. Item #06175
