Religion in Yugoslavia: A report on conferences with Roman Catholic, Orthodox, Moslem, Jewish and Protestant leaders, and investigations through the medium of religious institutions and documents

n.p., [1948?]. First edition. 8vo; stapled wrappers, 27 pp, photographic plates. A report by seven American Protestant clergymen and editors of religious journals who visited Yugoslavia in the summer of 1947. They found “a genuine equality of religion before the law and the beginnings of true tolerance.” This was contrary to the overwhelmingly Western perspective that religion was harshly suppressed in Eastern bloc countries under Communism. Some soiling and rubbing to wrappers, clean internally. Although no publication information is shown, an OCLC record notes an imprint of the Yugoslav embassy in Washington, D.C., which is likely based on its propagandistic value. Uncommon in commerce. Some soiling and light wear to wrappers, but VG. Item #05700
