Small 8vo (5¼” x 8”); stapled newsprint wrappers, 16 pp. A reprint of a speech delivered by the German anti-fascist, Gerhart Eisler, before a meeting of the German American, Inc. on Dec. 11, 1946. Eisler was a prominent and peripatetic German Communist who was alleged to have directed the Communist Party USA during and after WWII. He was tried in 1947 and 1948 and jumped bail by stowing away on a ship to England. He later fled to East Germany where he became chief of East German Radio. Brittle newsprint paper is browning with top corner slightly chipped. Uncommon in the trade with a little less than two dozen copies found in OCLC. Item #05692
