Blue stapled wrappers printed in blue; 16 pp. An informative epistolary account of the history of Negro Freemasonry in Massachusetts as investigated by a committee from the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts. This report conferred legitimacy on the so-called Prince Hall (Negro) Freemasonry in Massachusetts, which had previously been deemed illegitimate Masonry by the Grand Lodge. Includes an historical account of African Lodge No. 1. An interesting, albeit somewhat patronizing, document. Faint toning to wrapper edges with some offsetting to rear wrapper; one tiny nick to the top of the front wrapper, but Near Fine.
