Who Is Luis Sarasola? [caption title]

n.p. n.p., [1936?]. First edition. Broadside measuring 32 x 11 cm; plain white stock printed in black. Unattributed broadside protesting a meeting sponsored by the American League Against War and Fascism and featuring the Spanish priest, Luis Sarasola, who traveled across the U.S. and Canada in 1936 raising funds for the Republican cause. We believe the meeting in question could be a large one held at Madison Square Garden in Nov. 1936, at which Sarasola spoke. The anonymous author(s) accuse Sarasola of being an apostate priest and the American League as favoring an oxymoronic "Communistic Fascism" and warns thinking Americans against donating any money. Scarce. We can find no other copies in commerce or in institutional collections. Three horizontal folds and some minor creasing and wear. Item #02966
