False Freedom. Edward L. DELANEY.

False Freedom

Los Angeles: Sequoia University Press, 1954. First edition. Octavo. Rust-colored cloth stamped in gilt; 180, [5] pp.; dust jacket. Delaney was a failed actor-turned-communist agitator who was tried in absentia for treason for broadcasting Nazi propaganda overseas at the beginning of WWII (what he referred to as "fact-finding travels and reports). The charges were later dropped and he spent the rest of his life lecturing and writing on the Communist menace. The publisher, Sequoia University, was an unaccredited university and degree mill, best known for issuing an "honorary doctorate" to L. Ron Hubbard, who was later forced to publicly renounce it. A perfect fit for Delaney's book. A Near Fine copy with cheap paper browning in the scarce dust jacket with tape reinforcement to verso (possibley as issued). This edition scarce. Item #01907

Price: $50.00
