The Village Idiot, Nos. 1-3, 1966

St. Albans & Huntington, West Virginia: Paul Shingleton, Jr., 1966. 11" x 8.5"; 8 pp; [2], 19 pp; 22, [1] pp.; variously illustrators. Three side-stapled, offset, issues (four were ultimately issued under this moniker) in Near Fine condition. Printed on blue, yellow and white paper, respectively, The Village Idiot was a sci-fi/fantasy fanzine in the vein of Yando edited and published by Paul Shingleton, Jr. and Tom Milton. Both contributors had been previously involved with other fanzines: Crud, Fanivac, Barf, Achtung!, Post Script, Critique, etc. Content includes editorials, "The Way Out of Viet Nam," "The New Penology," poetry, letters and reviews, etc. Copies of any issues are quite scarce; Bowling Green State University and the Harry Ransom Center appear to be the only institutions housing copies (neither with a complete run).
